Acupuncture can be useful in the treatment of a multitude of conditions. Back in 1997 the World Health Organisation recommended acupuncture treatments for dealing with a variety of disorders. More recently the Australian Department of Veteran Affairs (in 2010) and the US Department of Veteran Affairs (2014) conducted reviews of the available evidence for acupuncture. In 2017 the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association Ltd (AACMA) commissioned The Acupuncture Evidence Project to provide an update on the avialiable evidence for the effectiveness of acupuncture. In short, they found that there was evidence for the effectiveness of acupuncture in 117 conditions.
